since being on this diet i've had a few people advice me to "just get some monistat". while i think people are trying to be helpful and save me the trouble of hippie dieting, i also think it's based in a assumption that mainstream western medicine always works. which it doesn't. different things work for different people, and nothing works for everything. furthermore, anti-yeast cremes only kill the yeast in your vagina, not in your intestines or stomach or wherever else it might be.
i actually did get some difulcan after about a week from someone i know with health insurance. i took the dosage, but it didn't fully take care of everything.
my cervical fluid seems to be naturally sort of acidic, and my body seems to lean more towards yeast growth. i need to treat my body holistically and deal with candida being in all of it, not just in my pussy.
i'm not saying others should feel bad for taking prescriptions or using over the counter yeast killers. you should do whatever you have to and can afford to do to make your body feel and function better.
and this is what i have to do.
